FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Hang on to your hunger, Fairfield County. Golden Corral plans to open its Connecticut location in Milford by the end of the month.

Golden Corral is a buffet-style chain with more than 480 restaurants in 41 states. It announced last fall that it would open in Milford at 74 Turnpike Square, in a space that formerly housed Hometown Buffet. CtPost.com reported Golden Corral would open on Thursday, March 30.

The closest Golden Corral restaurants to Fairfield County are in Springfield, Mass., and Middletown, N.Y. This week, a Golden Corral location that opened in January in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., suddenly closed its doors.

Golden Corral serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is best known for its hot buffet, where diners can enjoy unlimited quantities of everything from pizza to steak and a wide selection of foods from various ethnicities. It also offers a breakfast buffet and a soup and hot potato bar.

The Milford location has already amassed a hungry following before it even opens its doors. Its Facebook page has more than 4,400 followers who are anticipating the grand opening. The company posted on March 20 that it was still seeking employees.

The restaurant is located near the Connecticut Post Mall on Route 1. Click here to visit the restaurant’s Facebook page or contact them at 203-783-1539. Click here for the general Golden Corral website.
