You’ll have your choice of nine new ones soon: The town’s Zoning Commission recently approved a plan to create a condo complex on the site of the former Long Beach Skateland roller rink on Washington Parkway, according to Economic Development Director Mary Dean.

Plans call for the demolition of the old building, which was heavily damaged in Tropical Storm Irene and Hurricane Sandy.

Each of the three-level, townhouse-style units will have two bedrooms and a deck.

The site of countless birthday parties, Long Beach Skateland was a landmark in the town’s Lordship section for at least 50 years. The building will be razed to make room for the condo complex.
