So reads the information on the Open Door Tea website where a passion for tea -- pardon the pun -- runs 'hot"

The Stratford shop opened eight months ago and is owned by Kasia Lindeberg, a nutritionist who's all about touting the healing properties of herbs and tea.

A longtime consultant at Nature’s Way in Stratford, Lindeberg longed dream of owning her own place where people could relax and enjoy healthy offerings such as organic teas, coffees, juices, and delicacies (think gluten free and vegetarian options).

With Open Door -- which gets its name from a Bible verse -- she is hoping to build community and strengthen friendships with the relaxing powers of just sipping and relaxing.

Among the more than 40 teas on the menu: Names you'll know, like Earl Gry and Masala Chai and other, more unique varieties like Honeybush Hazelnut, Rooibos Caramel, Ali Shan, Calypso Green, and Dragon Well.

Food includes salads, scones quiches, soups, cheese boards, smoothies and wraps.

Open Door Tea is at 3552 Main St. in Paradise Green, (203) 345-9659, www.opendoortea.com/.
