“The acquisition of the adjacent 2.58 acres of land gives Two Roads Brewing Company the ability to expand and strengthens their presence in Stratford,” said Jon Angel, who represented both the buyer and seller in the transaction.

In 2012, Two Roads Brewing Company purchased the site of the former U.S. Baird Corp. headquarters at 1700 Stratford Ave. for $2.85 million.

“When we saw the proud old U.S. Baird Building, we saw a beautiful symbol of America’s past manufacturing might, and the opportunity to revitalize a great piece of history. Not to mention an ideal building for a brewery,” said Brad Hittle, one of the founders. “Two Roads Brewery has everything from a large tasting room to enjoy our beers, to enough space for events and private parties.”

After extensive renovations, Two Roads Brewing Company opened in December 2012 in the former factory. They are makers of craft beer including an IPA, “Honeyspot Road,” named after the road that ends at the intersection of Stratford Avenue where Two Roads Brewing is located.

“It is great to have helped Two Roads Brewing Company make Stratford their home,” said Angel. “Their brewery tours and tasting room attract tourists, which is beneficial to Stratford’s economy.”
