Couturas will discuss his book, “A Schoolboy’s War: A World War II Memoir,” based on his childhood experiences.

In “A School Boy's War,” Couturas has written a tale of a young boy who is acutely aware yet blissfully ignorant of the dangerous world in which he and his family struggle to survive. Funny and heartbreaking, the memoir is a first-person history of his life in England during World War II. Couturas takes the reader beside him as bombs fall and families' lives are torn apart.

“Sunday Afternoon Talks” is free. A new series of talks will begin at the library in October.
