An all-day event, it offers locals a chance to browse wares by 30 artisans in a festive atmosphere with live music and special activities for kids.

Early shoppers can "sip and shop" with free Mimosas. Kids can write letters to Santa or make ornaments.

"Hundreds have been coming the last two weekends. There's a large push to shop small, spend and eat local, especially during the holidays," said Nicole Heriot-Mikula, owner of one of the shops in the building.

Heriot-Mikula, along with small business owners Michael Skrtic and Jimmy Tickey are the creators of Celebrate Shelton.

The citywide initiative kicked off the season with a Community Tree Lighting on Dec. 2.

"We encourage everyone to shop locally during the holiday season and throughout the year. It builds a sense of community. It's a really, big deal. We really are excited because Celebrate Shelton is seeing new changes in 2017. We will be building new partnerships and seeking new venues for the pop-up markets."

Saturday's market runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Conti Building, 415 Howe Ave., Shelton.

Saturday's market offers everything from spices that are unique, to soaps and lotions, winter clothing and one-of-a-kind home items.

"We have a wide range of locally made goods," said Heriot-Mikula.

Dan Carlucci and Creamery Station Acoustic Trio will provide the music and the Shops at Conti will be open all day.

Free parking is in the back of the Conti Building at 415 Howe Ave.
