Produced by the downtown art gallery City Lights and sponsored by the Downtown Special Services District, the installation transforms three storefront windows for passersby.

The first, at the corner of the Mechanics & Farmers building at 930 Main Street, features work by artist Will Corprew, whose art has a strong base in geometric abstraction. His window features figurative and abstract art paired with samplings of his interior design collection.

Robin Jopp of Made in Bridgeport and Steve Gerber of City Lights were asked to create an installation inspired by vintage images of a Woolworth’s store, once a popular downtown destination. Their scramble of vintage postcards and other items and a snappily dressed mannequin can be found at the corner of 1085 Main Street.

Finally, there’s the City Lights Samesex Exhibit on the ground floor of the Harral, Security and Wheeler building at 1123 Main Street. This window features props created for Bridgeport’s third annual Gay Pride Walk by Iyaba Ibo Mandingo and participants in community workshops.

The seventh annual Samesex exhibit reception and pride walk will take place July 20 at City Lights, 265 Golden Hill Street.
