Well, mark your calendar for Maker Madness, an overnight event featuring escape rooms, ghost hunters and more at Westport Library.
The fun begins at 8 p.m. July 22 and will run until 7 a.m. July 23 for anyone ages 12 and up.
What will you do once the doors are locked?
The library is celebrating the fifth birthday of its popular MakerSpace, so this year’s event will feature Maker workshops and lots of hands-on building.
You can work to beat the clock and save the future in the escape room or help construct a labyrinthian maze through the book stacks. There will be time to make a stop-motion movie, experiment with virtual reality and paint with light.
“This is my favorite event of the year and it’s right around the corner,” said Alex Giannini, the library’s manager of experiential learning. “We’ll have more Maker activities than ever before and a special guest in “Ghost Hunters” star Dustin Pari, who will take us through an interactive presentation with tales about his paranormal experiences.”
Online registration is required. A $50 admission covers activities and midnight pizza and snacks. Volunteers are needed for this event.
