Go ahead, admit it. Given the growing number of food fanatics in America, you’re certainly not alone.

And you can make some new foodie friends at the launch of Westport LIbrary’s new Cookbook Club, featuring a guest appearance by local food blogger/cookbook author/TV celeb Katie Brown of Katie Brown Workshop.

The inaugural event takes place from 7 to 8 p.m., Dec. 6, at Wakeman Town Farm and it’s free and open to the public.

The library is partnering with Wakeman Town Farm on this new plan to give the food community a chance to come together.

“This new series is a great way for members of the community who like to cook or eat to meet cookbook authors, food bloggers and other home cooks at the Wakeman Town Farm, where food is grown,” said Jennifer Keller, the library’s programming coordinator.

Participants are encouraged to bring a cookbook from home to swap with others at the event.

Brown has built a successful lifestyle brand for more than 20 years. Her career has included TV show for Lifetime, A&E and Style networks and regular appearances on the “Today Show,” “Good Morning America” and “Live with Regis and Kelly.” The sixth season of “Katie Brown Workshop” is now airing on public television.

Brown has designed a line of home and gardening products and she’s the author of five books, including “Katie Brown Entertains” and “Katie Brown’s Weekends.” Copies of her books will be available for sale at the Dec. 6 event.

Wakeman Town Farm is at 134 Cross Highway. Attendees should park on Wakeman Drive to get to Tim’s Kitchen.
