Read To Feed: Stratford Play Reading Festival Supports Food Pantry

STRATFORD, Conn. -- A play reading festival presented by SquareWrights PlayWright Group will feature the works of five Stratford playwrights to benefit the local food pantry Saturday, March 25 at the Stratford Library.

Admission will be a donation of a non-perishable food, canned, boxed, or jarred, pet food, or a monetary gift for the benefit of Sterling House Community Center’s Food Pantry. 

The festival features short plays inspired by the theme of “food.” 

These include: by Stratford Playwrights: “Pop’s Sandwich” by Beatriz Allen, “All You Can Eat” by Steven Otfinoski, “Sharing” by Jack Rushen, “Feeding the Love” by Mark Lambeck, and "Twenty Twenty" by Orna Rawls. The sixth play, “It’s a Mystery” is by Kate Gill of Guilford.

Reservations are not required but space is limited.

The play readings will start at 2 p.m., with doors opening at 1:30 p.m. at the library, 2203 Main St.

The Sterling House Community Center food pantry is open local residents with a referral. Call 203-378-2606 for information. The center is located at 2283 Main St.
