Fairfield Explorers Gain Experience, Awards At Cadet Academy

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Fifteen Fairfield Police Explorers attended the 2017 Cadet Police Academy in July, with four coming home with awards for their performance and talent.

A total of 350 cadets and 90 police officers and staff from Connecticut, New York and Massachusetts attended the weeklong academy, a comprehensive and challenging experience in law enforcement and modern-day police work.

Each day began at 5:30 a.m. and ended at 10:30 p.m. with the main focus being teamwork.

The 15 Fairfield graduates were Alex Bloch, Deaglan McDade, Joseph

Bairaktaris, Mekhi Geter, Kelley Martinez, Michael Coudert, Andrew Lamousneary, Tahliik

Wilson, Johnny Bairaktaris, Joseph Ricco, Brianna Milfort, Leticia Pires, Brandon Compasso,

Marco Giacobe and Torelle Adebewale.

McDade and Bairaktaris won their program director’s award for outstanding achievement. Milfort finished in third place in her program’s physical agility competition and Pires came in first place at the Talent Show.
