STRATFORD, Conn. — The fireworks in Stratford may have been delayed until July 5 because of rain, but they did not lack in Independence Day spirit.

The fireworks were shot off Short Beach in Stratford, with crowds coming from all over Tuesday evening to enjoy the show. They gathered around the streets, the beach, and the parking lots in anticipation.

As the show began, the night sky became vibrant with the colorful explosions.

“Never before have I seen these fireworks,” said spectator Jessica Remerez.

The show was short — only about 20 minutes — but the night sky flickered with the vibrant colors.

“This year I took my family to see the fireworks. We are new to Stratford, so I didn’t know what to expect. The fireworks were good, but the best part was spending time with my family and everyone enjoyed themselves seeing the big display from Short Beach,” said spectator Bob Remeck.
