FreshConnections, a produce delivery services run by LifeBridge Community Services, will launch its newest pickup site at the downtown Bridgeport Public Library from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Friday.

The program is open to the public, regardless of income level, and operates on a subscription basis. You sign up and go to your pickup location twice a month to pick up a box of fresh produce.

On delivery days the program also offers “pop-up” markets with additional fruits and vegetables to purchase individually, giving customers more choice and variety.

Current distribution sites include Hall Neighborhood House, LifeBridge Community Services and Burroughs Community Center in Bridgeport and the Stratford Health Department.

Interested residents can stop by Friday’s launch and enjoy some samples made by Chef Raquel Rivera-Pablo from A Pinch of Salt, along with some of the healthy recipes she has created using produce found in the boxes.
