It will be "a gala evening of hot music, dancing, appetizers, dinner, fine beverages and delectable desserts," a news release notes. There will also be a silent auction. All proceeds will benefit the library's collections.

East Coast has a stellar reputation for providing top tier entertainment in the New York City, Long Island and tri-state area. The nine-piece band features male and female lead vocalists, a dynamic horn section -- and rave reviews.

During the '80s and '90s, East Coast developed its reputation as a high-energy party band, building a loyal following. During this era, the band shared the stage with notables like John Belushi, Wilson Pickett, Tower of Power and more. East Coast offers a varied and popular musical evening of dance hits from the 1960s to the present.

Major sponsors for the library benefit include People's United Bank, Stratford Development Company, Aquarion Water Company, Berchem, Moses and Devlin, Connecticut Distributors Inc., Bridgeport Fittings, The Milford Bank, Joel F. Pleban CPA, Lord Chamberlain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hubbell Water Heaters, and Pistey Funeral Home.

It's not too late to become a benefit sponsor and receive a variety of special perks. Businesses and individuals who would like further information about supporting this gala event should contact event co-chairpersons Doreen Jaekle at 203-378-8976 or Robyn Proto at 203-218-3320.
