STRATFORD, Conn. -- Stratford children may sign up for summer reading at the Stratford Library beginning June 1.

This year’s program is in partnership with Mayor John Harkins and the Stratford Schools. The theme is “Be a Good Sport – Read!”

Children age 12 and under can read books, receive prizes and enjoy special programs at the library.

Choose a summer reading program based on the child’s age and reading level. Children not yet reading on their own can join the Read-to-Me program.

Complete 10 activities to receive an invitation to the Read-to-Me party. Independent readers in kindergarten and up may join the Summer Reading Challenge. Read eight books to receive an invitation to an ice cream party with the mayor and quizmaster Ed Popielarczyk.
