BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A 39-year-old Bridgeport man is facing up to 20 years in federal prison in the overdose death of a woman in Stratford after pleading guilty Wednesday, prosecutors said.

Ramon "Blade" Killings waived his right to be indicted and pleaded guilty in Hartford federal court to one count of distribution of heroin, said U.S. Attorney for Connecticut Deirdre M. Daly.

A 33-year-old woman was found dead in a Stratford home in the early morning of Dec. 4, by Stratford police officers responding to a 911 call, Daly said.

The woman had died of a suspected drug overdose in the bedroom of the home, she said.

In December and January, law enforcement officials made controlled purchases of heroin from Killings, Daly said, and he was arrested Jan. 18.

At the time of his arrest, Killings had heroin and crack cocaine in his possession, she said.

He is free on $20,000 bond awaiting his sentencing Aug. 16.
