State Awards Stratford $200K To Help With Army Engine Plant Cleanup

STRATFORD, Conn. -- A $200,000 state grant will be used to help determine what needs to be done to prepare the Army Engine Plant site for redevelopment, according to the Stratford Star.

Stratford Mayor John Harkins said the Point Stratford Renewal team is working on mixed-use waterfront development plans for the Army Engine Plant property, the Star said.

The money is part of the state's Department of Economic and Community Development Brownfield Remediation Program. 

In addition, $7 million in state funding is available to pay for cleanup at the site, the Stratford Star says.
