Stratford Delays Garbage Pickup For Thanksgiving

STRATFORD, Conn. -- There will be no refuse, recycling or yard waste collection in Stratford on Thursday, Nov. 26, in observance of Thanksgiving.

Thursday’s route will be picked up on Friday, and Friday’s route will be collected on Saturday.

The Transfer Station on Watson Boulevard will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 26. It will be open on Friday, Nov. 27 from 7 a.m. to 3p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 28 from 8 a.m. to noon.

Residents using refuse cans must use the standard 32-gallon capacity container. Garbage or yard waste contained in the larger 45-gallon capacity can will not collected.

Stratford now offers single stream recycling. You can find a list of rules by calling the Public Works office at 203-385-4080 Monday through Friday, or visit the town’s website here.
