Stratford Holds Public Meeting On Route 1/Metro-North Bridge Project

The Town of Stratford, along with the state Department of Transportation, will hold a public meeting Thursday, Dec. 17, on the project.

The meeting will be at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 2725 Main St. 

Bridge No. 00326 is slated for replacement, using "Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil abutments and an integrated approach roadway system," according to the firm AI Engineers

The existing three-span structure will be replaced with a single-span structure, carrying four lanes of traffic with an overall width of 67 feet. The span length of the replacement bridge will be 120 and the vertical clearance over the railroad will be improved from 20 feet, 7 inches to 22 feet, 6 inches.
