Laura Hololob, 89, Longtime Stratford Resident

STRATFORD, Conn. — Stratford resident Laura (Janowski) Hololob died on Friday, April 29. She was 89.

Born in Poland, Hololob was a Stratford resident for most of her life and a longtime member of St. Michael the Archangel Church in Bridgeport. She worked for Levine Coat Company for over 30 years as a seamstress. 

Hololob is survived by daughters Christine and husband James Bogdany of Stratford, Irene and husband Richard Cogswell of Stratford and Theresa Hololob.

She also is survived by her sister Jan Repko and grandchildren Jason and Ryan Cogswell, great-granddaughter Emma Cogswell and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her husband Stanley, Hololob was predeceased by her infant son Teddy, son-in-law Robert Margait, brother Stefan Janowski and his wife Helen and brother-in-law Andrew Repko. 

Calling hours will take place on Monday May 2 from 4-7 p.m. in the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main St., in Bridgeport. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Michael the Archangel Church, 310 Pulaski St., in Bridgeport followed by interment in St. Michael Cemetery in Stratford.
