Anoris Delgado, 29, also known as "Alex," was sentenced to five months, followed by three years of supervised release for distributing heroin. U.S. District Judge Victor A. Bolden ordered Delgado to serve the first six months of his supervised release in home confinement.
Delgado's arrest began with the investigation of a pair of overdoses in April 2016, one of which was fatal. According to court documents, police in Bridgeport responded to a Washington Avenue location on April 25, 2016 on a report of a drug overdose. When they arrived, they found the overdose victim, who was revived with two doses of Narcan and taken to the hospital. A friend of the victim told police that they had bough the heroin from someone who was later identified as Delgado's brother Erick, according to Durham.
That same evening, police in Monroe responded to a report of an unresponsive 48-year-old man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, Durham said. An autopsy later revealed that the man's cause of death was acute fentanyl intoxication. An acquaintance told police that the man had also purchased heroin from Erick Delgado, according to Durham.
On May 3, 2016, a person working with law enforcement contacted Erick Delgado to arrange a purchase of heroin. The person and an undercover officer met with Anoris Delgado in Bridgeport, who sold them 20 bags of heroin, Durham said. The undercover officer bought another 20 bags of heroin from Anoris Delgado on May 20.
The brothers were arrested on June 21, 2016. On Oct. 25, 2016, Anoris Delgado pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of heroin. He has been detained since July 11, 2017, when his bond was revoked.
Erick Delgado pleaded guilty to the same charge and was sentenced to 13 months in prison on Jan. 26, 2017.
