MILFORD, Conn. -- Eight children and two adults were rescued by firefighters on jet skis after getting caught in an incoming tide that quickly overtook the group, according to the Connecticut Post.
The group, which was visiting the Silver Sands State Park, walked out to a sandbar visible at low tide, and was quickly caught in neck-deep water as the high tide rolled in, said the Connecticut Post.
Three marine units, including a jet ski, were dispatched from the city dock after receiving a 911 call. Firefighters were able to rescue the youngest children first and then worked to take the remaining victims to shore. No injuries were reported, added the Connecticut Post.
