Douglas Meireles, 25, of 120 Triangle St, Unit 6, was arrested at about 5:20 p.m. Thursday on multiple drug charges by officers executing search-and-seizure warrants, police said.

Meireles was stopped and arrested while sitting in the passenger seat of a parked car, police said.

After taking Meireles into custody, investigators searched his apartment and found additional illegal drugs and other items of evidence, police said.

Meireles was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and three counts of possession of a controlled substance.

He was held on $20,000 bond pending arraignment.

Members of the Danbury Police Department’s Special Investigations Division, with the assistance of the Community Conditions Unit and a uniform patrol officer, executed the court-authorized search-and-seizure warrants for Meireles and his apartment, police said.

The warrants were issued after an investigation that began weeks earlier in response to complaints that Meireles was selling illegal drugs in Danbury, police said.
