Fairfield Police Charge Milford Man With Assault On Girlfriend, Client

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Milford man was arrested for assault after he confronted his girlfriend and a man she said was a business client in her car Sunday, punching each of them, police said.

John Dacruz, 48, of Foran Road, was charged with third-degree assault and two counts of breach of peace in the incident, which took place around 9:30 p.m. in the parking lot outside Little Pub restaurant on Black Rock Turnpike, police said.

The victim, who lives in Fairfield, said she was meeting a marketing client from Fairfield at the restaurant and they went to her car for a cigarette break, police said.

According to surveillance tape and the victims’ statements, Dacruz drove up to the car ,punched the man and punched the girlfriend four or five times in the head, police said. The man ran off and the woman drove away with Dacruz following her, police said.

Dacruz was found at his parents’ home in Orange. He was held on $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court April 24, police said.

Both victims declined medical attention.
