STRATFORD, Conn. -- A Waterbury Federal Express driver was charged by Stratford police with stealing packages he picked up at a UPS facility, according to the Connecticut Post.
Alexander Perez, 40, was charged Tuesday with third-degree larceny, after police found several opened and empty Federal Express boxes in a dumpster on Honeyspot Road, according to the Connecticut Post. When officers contacted Fed Ex, they were told Perez was assigned to pick up the packages from UPS that had been left by mistake, said the Connecticut Post.
Police said Perez took the packages, containing medical equipment valued at more than $4,000, without scanning them so a record wasn't created, the Connecticut Post reported. When confronted, he denied taking the packages, but a search of his home turned up the items, added the Connecticut Post.
