Lockdown Ends At Platt Tech In Milford

Update: The lockdown ended at Platt Technical High School in Milford in time for afternoon dismissal, according to State Police.

The lockdown was called after a man died in a nearby park of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the Connecticut Post.

Original story: MILFORD, Conn. — Platt Tech in Milford was in lockdown Tuesday afternoon while Milford police officers respond to an incident in the area of Eisenhower Park.

Connecticut State Police are on site at the state-run technical high school.

Mathewson School and Orange Avenue School are also on lockdown, police said.

Eisenhower Park in Milford is closed, police said. All the attached facilities are also closed, including trails and the dog park. 

Milford police have a suspect in the park, and "the situation is still active." 

Platt Tech has students from Bridgeport, Fairfield, Milford, Shelton, Stratford and Trumbull, among others.
