Police arrested Robert Toussaint as he was getting ready to flee to his home country of Haiti, the Connecticut Post reported. He was charged with second-degree sexual assault, fourth-degree sexual assault, first-degree unlawful restrain and risk of injury to a child, according to the Connecticut Post.
Police told the Connecticut Post that the sexual assaults occurred while the girl's mother was out of town visiting relatives. When the girl told her mother what happened, the mother confronted Toussaint and recorded their conversation, which she then turned over to the police, according to the Connecticut Post.
Toussaint was held on a $100,000 bond following his arrest, the Connecticut Post reported.
