Milford Cops: Man Found Passed Out At Truck Stop Assaulted First Responders

MILFORD, Conn. — A man who was found drunkenly passed out at a truck stop in Milford was arrested after the assaulted first responders, police said.

A complaint was made of an "unwanted person" at 10:10 p.m. Sunday at the Pilot Travel Center at 433 Old Gate Lane off I-95. 

Officers found Christopher Peckham, 48, of 583 Anderson Ave., Milford, "unconscious and intoxicated inside the building," police said. 

Peckham was transported to the hospital due to his condition, police said. 

He struck a fireman in the face with a closed fist and the kicked a police officer at the hospital, police said. 

Peckham was charged with two counts of assault on emergency personnel. He was held on $2,000 bond.
