New Haven Police Employee Charged In Computer Monitor Theft In Stratford

STRATFORD, Conn. — A New Haven Police Department employee was arrested in Stratford on charges of stealing a computer monitor from BJ's Wholesale Club, police said.

On Sept. 20, Jennifer McDermott, 38, of Milford turned herself in to officers at the Stratford Police Department as the result of a warrant for her arrest, police said. 

McDermott was accused of stealing a computer monitor from the store at 955 Ferry Blvd. in Stratford, police said. She was charged with sixth-degree larceny.

The theft occurred Aug. 18, and the warrant was issued by the court on Sept. 3, police said.

McDermott was released on $495 court-set bond and was scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Court on Sept. 29.

McDermott is an employee of the New Haven Police Department, Stratford police said.
