STRATFORD, Conn. -- Stratford firefighters are looking to the skies these days, just in case there is an osprey overhead carrying something to their babies that might hit the first responders in the head, according to NBC Connecticut.
Fire officials told NBC Connecticut that two ospreys have built a nest above the station on a communication antenna and are dropping everything from sticks, fish and even a kitten in their path.
Firefighters aren't the only ones in the line of fire, the department's air conditioning unit was damaged after a dropped bass landed inside. Besides being a bother, the real concern is that the nest could damage the communication antenna, added NBC Connecticut.
