Stratford EMS Volunteers, Staff Go Extra Mile During Snow Storm

STRATFORD, Conn. -- Stratford EMS exercised extra caution Thursday, adding several crews to their typical coverage to account for emergencies during the storm that dropped several inches of snow over the city.

Volunteers and paid staff all stepped in to assist in the effort, according to the agency, which said that six ambulances were in service along with four sport utility vehicles carrying paramedics able to provide advanced life support and snow removal assistance.

"Thank you to all of our staff for working tirelessly today to ensure Stratford citizens remained safe and healthy," said a Facebook statement from the Stratford Volunteer EMS Association at Stratford EMS.
