STRATFORD, Conn. — A Stratford man was charged with negligent homicide in a fatal crash involving a Bridgeport man riding a moped back in February, the Connecticut Post reported.
Idis Wilson, 27, was charged Monday with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle and reckless driving, then held on $150,000 bond.
Wilson, driving a 2015 Toyota Camry, struck a moped driven by Richard Rodriguez, of Bridgeport on Feb. 17. Rodriguez died of his injuries on Feb. 21 at Bridgeport Hospital.
The moped was traveling south on Mary Avenue and attempted to cross Canaan Road when it was hit by the Camry, which was traveling west on Canaan Road, police said.
Rodriguez was thrown off the moped about 85 feet and suffered serious injuries, police said.
Wilson remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, police said.
