STRATFORD, Conn. -- A Florida man tried to rob a drug store and robbed a bank in Stratford — all within a span of 15 minutes — but was arrested after crashing a stolen car in Milford, police said.
Robert Keith Abel, 54, attempted to rob a Walgreens Pharmacy at 12:45 p.m. Friday and then got $1,200 in a robbery at the Webster Bank at 1 p.m., both in Stratford, police said.
Abel was arrested later after he crashed a stolen car in Milford, police said. The car was stolen in South Carolina, police said.
He was charged with second-degree robbery, second-degree larceny, fourth-degree larceny and attempted robbery, police said Saturday.
No weapons were displayed and no one was hurt during the robberies, police said.
Police did not say what foiled the robbery at the drug store.
Abel was held on an unspecified bond and will appear in court Feb. 28.
