Teacher At Bridgeport's Central High Charged With Sexual Assault Of Teen

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A special education teacher at Central High School in Bridgeport was charged with having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a male student, according to the Connecticut Post.

Police charged 31-year-old Laura Ramos of Milford with second-degree sexual assault of an 18-year-old, according to the Connecticut Post. She was arrested on Tuesday and released on a $50,000 bond, according to the Connecticut Post.

Police told the Connecticut Post that school officials had heard from a student that Ramos had been having a sexual relationship with one of her special education students. The relationship was first reported on June 9, and police interviewed Ramos on June 12, where she said she was close with the student but denied having a sexual relationship, according to the Connecticut Post.

When police interviewed Ramos again, she admitted to having a sexual relationship with the student from December 2016 to April 2017, according to the Connecticut Post. Ramos is married with one child, and told police that she and the student mostly had sex in her car, the Connecticut Post reported.

Ramos was due to appear in court on June 28, and has been placed on administrative leave, the Connecticut Post reported.
