STRATFORD, Conn. -- Two police officers were injured Thursday morning after an erratic driver fleeing police caused a garbage truck to crash into a police car, according to the Connecticut Post.

The erratic driver turned into oncoming traffic on Surf Avenue, where the garbage truck swerved, hit the police car and turned onto its side, the Post said.

The driver of the car, Bryce Laister, of Fairfield, was arrested on multiple motor vehicle charges, the Post said.

The two officers and an occupant of the truck were sent to Bridgeport Hospital with minor injuries, the Post said.
