Joshua Lindwall, 32, of East Main Street, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, police said. He was held on $10,000 bond and is expected in court on Aug. 18.

On April 11, around 11 p.m., officers were dispatched to a Compo Road South address on a report of an intoxicated man in the complainant’s backyard.

Officers found the man, later identified as Lindwall, at a Gault Avenue home, police said. Lindwall, who appeared to be intoxicated, said he was house sitting and taking care of pets at the home, police said.

Officers checked the home and noticed several bottles of alcohol and pill bottles of hydrocodone and oxycodone on the dining room table, police said.

Officers seized two grams of marijuana, 14 grams of psilocybin, commonly known as mushrooms, and three prescription medications that belonged to the homeowner, police said.

On Tuesday, Westport police picked up Lindwall at Stratford Police Department and he was processed on the Westport charge.
