At around 7:20 a.m., a juvenile girl was approached by the suspicious man as she waited at her bus stop at the intersection of Clinton Avenue and Breezy Knoll, police said. The girl told police that the suspicious person was a white male, between the ages of 40 and 50, with brown hair and bald spot.

The man first walked up and down Clinton Avenue, then got into an older green Jeep Grand Cherokee. He asked the girl twice if she wanted to see a cute dog in the back of his car, at which point the girl immediately ran home and notified her parents.

"The Westport Police Department is working closely with the Westport Board of Education to ensure the safety of our students and continue to keep the public informed," police said in a statement.

Anyone with information that can assist in identifying the man is asked to contact the Westport Detective Bureau at (203) 341-6080.
