STRATFORD, Conn. — A Stratford woman used multiple fake IDs and Social Security numbers in a scheme that defrauded United Illuminating Co. of $4,823, Stratford Police said.

Kimberly Lawton, 43, was arrested by warrant Feb. 27 after an investigation that began in October, police said.

She used the fake IDs and Social Security numbers to obtain services from the electric utility but didn't pay for them, police said.

She was charged with third-degree larceny, third-degree identity theft and criminal impersonation. Her first court date was Wednesday in Bridgeport.
