Blumenthal attended Thursday’s full hearing, where Comey said President Donald Trump lied about the circumstances of his firing. On Friday morning, Blumenthal will detail the next steps he would like to see in the investigation into possible collusion with Russians during the 2016 presidential campaign.
The Democratic senior senator will hold a press conference at 11:15 a.m. Friday at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford.
He will call for public testimony under oath by Sessions as well as Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein before the Senate Judiciary Committee, of which Blumenthal is a member.

In his Senate testimony Thursday, Comey noted that the FBI expected Sessions would recuse himself from the investigation into Russia. “We also were aware of facts that I can’t discuss in an open setting that would make his continued engagement in a Russia-related investigation problematic,” said Comey, who testified for nearly three hours.
In his testimony, Comey, a former Westport resident, said Trump lied to the American public when the president said the FBI had lost confidence in Comey and was in disarray before Trump fired him.
“Those were lies, plain and simple,” Comey said. "I am so sorry the FBI workforce had to hear them."
