"Change begins by stepping in the arena...papers are filed to run for Lieutenant Governor of CT," Stevenson wrote. "Time for a new leadership team to restore confidence, stability and hope for a brighter future."

The Republican has sailed to re-election three times on the strength of her skills at running Darien in an efficient and fiscally responsible manner. Those abilities could help her statewide should she win the party's nomination, as voters look to leaders to help Connecticut get out from under its fiscal woes.
