STRATFORD, Conn. –Local legislators Laura Hoydick (R-120) and Ben McGorty (R-122) each scored a 100 percent voting record in the House of Representatives, according to recently released data from the House Clerk’s office.
“I take my responsibilities as a legislator seriously and work hard to make sure the residents of Stratford have their voices heard on the critical issues facing our state,” said Hoydick who’s in her third term representing the 120th House District for Stratford.
“There are so many important issues facing our state and I make an effort to be present for the deliberation and votes on all of them, “said Rep. McGorty, who was first elected in a special election in July 2014, and is in his first full term. He represents Shelton, Stratford and Trumbull
There were 313 votes cast during the 2016 regular legislative session, special session and veto sessions. Hoydick and McGorty are among just 49 members of the 151-member House of Representatives to achieve the 100 percent score.
A Deputy Republican Leader, Hoydick serves on the legislature’s committees on Finance, Energy & Technology, Banks, Legislative Management.
McGorty serves on the legislature’s Judiciary, Environment and Appropriations Committees.
The next regular legislative session will convene in January.
