Petruccelli joins a Democratic field that also includes Stephanie Philips, the chairwoman of the DTC, and Zoning Commission Member Joe Paul. The three will likely square off in a primary on Sept. 12, CT Post reported.

Incumbent Republican Mayor John Harkins said he won't seek re-election. No other Republicans have announced formal intentions to run, CT Post said.
