Wells is a member of the class of 2016 and is majoring in elementary education and visual arts. She plans to become an elementary school teacher, said the Stratford Star.

The scholarship was created in honor of Victoria Leigh Soto ’08, an elementary school teacher who lost her life protecting her students at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown. It was started by the college to help students working toward becoming a teacher with financial needs, added the Stratford Star.
