School District Cancels Overseas Trips Due To Terror Concerns

STRATFORD, Conn. -- Concerns about terrorism and the safety of the students, prompted Superintendent Janet Robinson to cancel overseas trips for students at Stratford and Bunnell high schools next year, according to the Stratford Star.

Robinson canceled the April trips to France and Italy after the principals of the two schools brought their concerns of terrorism and student safety to her attention, reported the newspaper.

Some parents are upset the cancellation wasn't discussed with them first and about the fact they won't get full refunds for the nearly $3,500 cost of the trip, the story said.
