Special Needs Students Enjoy Special Tour Of Norwalk Fire Department

The High Road School of Norwalk teamed up with the Norwalk Fire Department to arrange student tours of firefighting and specialized equipment last month, with different grade levels attending each day.

Students toured the Norwalk firehouse at 121 Connecticut Ave., spent time with firefighters and learned about the day-to-day operations of the department.

The High Road School of Norwalk serves students 7-21 with exceptionalities including but not limited to learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, emotional disturbance, traumatic brain injury, communication disorders and physical challenges.

High Road Schools, part of the Catapult Learning family, partner with public school districts to provide a supportive, structured environment for students who need more support to develop academic, social and behavioral skills to be successful inside and outside the classroom.
