SHELTON, Conn. — A crash involving three vehicles was closing a lane of Route 8 northbound between Exits 11 and 12 in Shelton early Saturday afternoon, the Connecticut Department of Transportation said.
At least one overturned vehicle was reported in the crash near Exit 12 for Old Stratford Road.
Traffic was backed up from Exit 12 to Exit 11 for Bridgeport/Huntington, DOT said.
The state's highways were reportedly wet and slippery after a snowstorm rolled through the area on Saturday morning. The precipitation was reportedly a mix of snow-ice-rain at the time of the crash.
It was not clear how long it would take to clear the accident scene, DOT said.
