: Water service was restored and Main Street reopened late Saturday afternoon after Aquarion Water Co. completed repairs on a broken water main.
About 30 customers lost water due to break, which closed Main Street between Broadbridge Avenue and West Broad Street for much of the day on Saturday.
original story: STRATFORD, Conn. — Aquarion is working on repairing a major water main break in Stratford Center on Saturday morning, according to Mayor John Harkins.
The break was reported after 11 a.m. Saturday on Main Street near the Metro-North station in downtown Stratford.
The estimated restoration time was six to eight hours, Harkins said on Facebook. Drivers were urged to avoid the area in Stratford Center.
