Busy Intersection Reopens In Shelton After Traffic Light Falls

original story: SHELTON, Conn. — The busy intersection of Shelton Avenue/Route 108 and Meadow Street — near the police station, Shelton High and the Senior Center — is closed Monday afternoon because a traffic light fell onto the roadway, Shelton police said.

update: SHELTON, Conn. — The intersection of Shelton Avenue/Route 108 and Meadow Street in Shelton has reopened at about 3 p.m. Monday, police said. This was about two hours after a traffic light fell onto the roadway there.

"Detours are set up, but please avoid the area if possible,” police said. 

The entire state remains under a high wind warning until 6 p.m. Monday, with winds of 25 to 30 mph and gusts of up to 45 and 50 mph reported in parts of Fairfield County, the National Weather Service said.
