FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- After several days of rain last week, Fairfield County residents can expect cool and calm weather this week.

Tuesday will be mostly cloudy, though there could be some isolated showers in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. The high will be near 58, with a 20 percent chance of precipitation. Tuesday night will also be mostly cloudy, with a low around 40.

Though it will be unseasonably chilly this week, temperatures should slowly start to creep toward more seasonable levels in the mid to late week. Wednesday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 61. There will be a north wind of 5 to 8 mph. Wednesday night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. The west wind will become calm in the evening.

Thursday will be partly sunny, with a high near 61. Thursday night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 44. Friday will also be partly sunny with a high of 62. Friday night there is a 30 percent chance of showers after 2 a.m., but will otherwise be mostly cloudy with a low around 46.

The weekend could be wet again, with a 50 percent chance of showers predicted for both Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures will be in the upper 50s and lower 60s.
