Tuesday is the second day of rain forecast, according to the National Weather Service. It is 37 degrees and foggy Tuesday morning, so drivers are urged to use caution as they make their way back to work and school.

Expect the rain to stick around most of the day, when the high temperature will be 41, though wind chill values will make it feel below freezing at times. A 100 percent likelihood of precipitation will bring a half- to three-quarters of an inch of rain.

Rain will continue tonight with possibly a thunderstorm before dawn, then steady rain sticks around the remainder of the overnight hours when the temperature will be 40.

Wednesday brings more showers by afternoon when skies will be cloudy, and tepid air will reach as high as 49. Expect a 20 percent chance of precipitation.

The clouds stick around Wednesday night when the winter cool-down normalizes the mercury to 23, as expected in January. Wind chill values will bring cooler feeling air between 15 and 20.

Sunny Thursday arrives cold with the temperature just a point above the freezing mark.

The snow showers could move in Thursday after midnight when cloudy skies and 21-degree air brings out winter's lion.

More snow could come Friday morning when a 30 percent chance of snow showers will dampen partly sunny skies. The temperature will be around 31.

A cold blast will chill things off further to around 17 Friday night.
